Security

At IKEA, we know that accidents can put everyone, and particularly children, at risk.

By working together, we can help prevent these accidents and make the home a safer place.

Safety is of the utmost importance to IKEA, so service providers do not mount and install suspended items on drywall/sheetrock walls or ceilings.

Non-suspended IKEA items that are to be mounted or installed to a drywall/sheetrock wall will be allowed to be mounted provided they are mounted with legs and/or track and/or screwed to the wall.

We also do not mount and install to walls or ceilings made of wood, glass, metal, natural fibers or any similar material.

We need to know the type of wall to see if we can perform the assembly/installation. If the conditions at the service location pose a risk to people and/or property, IKEA may, through the service provider, decide not to perform the service. However, this will not constitute a breach of contract: we will refund the amount of the services, items associated with them, minus the amount of the travel costs.

Surveys

IKEA may conduct surveys and service visits to verify the quality, safety and appropriateness of the service provided, as it deems necessary, with the prior consent of our customers.
